Full Job Description

Are you passionate about healthcare and looking to launch your career in the field of medicine? We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Scribe to join our dynamic team. As a Medical Scribe, you will work alongside our experienced doctors/surgeons, assisting in documenting patient encounters, managing medical records, and ensuring efficient workflow within the office. Initially, the Medical Scribe will follow the physician during patient visits and accurately transcribe confidential patient information. Once the Medial Scribe can master the note taking process, they will be allowed to see the patient before the doctor and help assess the patient with some autonomy. This job allows the scribe to work on interpersonal skills, communication skills and multitasking. In addition, they will be able to gain some hands-on experience assisting with in-office procedures. This job is great for graduated college students or students during their gap year.

Responsibilities:

Accurately and efficiently document patient encounters, including medical histories, physical examinations, and treatment plans.
Manage and organize medical records, ensuring they are up to date and accessible for providers.
Collaborate with podiatrists to provide comprehensive patient care by transcribing and facilitating communication between healthcare providers and patients.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and data security.
Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized office environment.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a healthcare-related field.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to handle a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately transcribe medical information.
Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices.
Proficient computer skills and the ability to quickly learn electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with healthcare providers, staff, and patients.
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
