Registered Nurse (RN) - Per-Diem

Pay: $38.00 – $45.00 per hour
Status: Part-Time (18 hours per week)
Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays required, plus some weekday evenings
Location: Morris County, NJ

As the largest provider of services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in Morris County, ArcMorris is committed to empowering individuals to make meaningful choices, live independently, and thrive in their communities.

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) reports directly to the Assistant Executive Director and plays a key role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of individuals supported by ArcMorris.

This is a part-time position (18 hours per week) that requires availability on Saturdays and Sundays, with additional weekday evening hours as needed.

The RN supervises the provision of direct health and specialized personal care services, maintains standards of best practice, and ensures compliance with all regulatory and licensing requirements.

Registered Nurse (RN) Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the correct dispensing of medications by checking prescriptions at each residence and day program; conduct monthly assessments to ensure compliance.
Monitor and implement systems for collecting and analyzing consumer health and personal care information.
Recommend appropriate courses of action to address health care concerns.
Develop and maintain written curriculum for direct care staff related to health and wellness.
Conduct agency-wide training sessions, including medication administration and other health-related topics.
Maintain systems for accurate health and personal care recordkeeping.
Assist in identifying and maintaining a directory of community-based health care services.
Provide support and guidance for implementing personal care procedures and assessing consumer health needs.

Registered Nurse (RN) Required Skills:

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency with computers and electronic documentation.
Ability to effectively train and orient staff in a clear, concise manner.

Registered Nurse (RN) Qualifications:

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Minimum of one year of experience providing health-related and personal care services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
Experience with respiratory management, ostomy care, seizure disorders, catheterization, and assisted feeding techniques preferred.
Ability to travel to various ArcMorris program locations within Morris County.
