Full Job Description

Papaya Market is seeking reliable, energetic, and food-focused team members to join our growing Prepared Foods Department. We are hiring both experienced cooks and prep team members to help produce fresh, high-quality meals, salads, sandwiches, bowls, and hot food offerings for our guests.

This position may involve cooking, food preparation, packaging products, stocking displays, and assisting customers throughout the day. We are looking for individuals who take pride in food quality, cleanliness, and customer service.

Responsibilities

Cook Duties

Prepare and cook hot and cold food items according to recipes and production schedules
Operate grills, ovens, fryers, and other kitchen equipment safely
Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation
Maintain proper food temperatures and food safety standards
Assist with daily production planning and inventory management

Prep Cook & Packaging Duties

Wash, cut, and prepare vegetables, fruits, and proteins
Portion and package prepared foods for retail sale
Label products accurately with dates and ingredients
Stock and maintain prepared food displays
Follow sanitation and food safety procedures

Customer Service Duties

Assist guests with prepared food selections
Answer questions regarding ingredients and menu items
Maintain clean, organized, and attractive food displays
Provide friendly and professional customer service

Qualifications

Previous kitchen, deli, grocery, restaurant, or food service experience preferred
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Dependable and punctual
Food Handler or ServSafe certification is a plus
Bilingual English/Arabic is preferred but not required
