Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive PT Bookkeeper to join our small non-profit team. In this vital role, you will oversee all of the organization's financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help support our organization’s financial health by performing precise bookkeeping tasks, reconciling accounts, and preparing essential financial reports.

Responsibilities

Record and process all financial transactions using the QuickBooks accounting software
Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently and accurately.
Prepare journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements as needed.
Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and preparing financial reports that aid decision-making.
Maintain detailed records of all bookkeeping activities, including debits & credits, account reconciliation, and financial report writing.

Skills

Proven experience with the QuickBooks accounting software
Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, including double entry bookkeeping and GAAP standards.
Knowledge of non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
Familiarity with governmental accounting procedures and tax experience is advantageous.
Excellent skills in bank reconciliation, account analysis, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation accurately and efficiently.
Strong attention to detail with proficiency in 10 key typing for data entry accuracy.
Effective communication skills for financial report writing and collaboration with other staff members.

Pay: $28.00 per hour
