Offshore Energy Services is seeking Experienced Casing Floor Hands and Tong Operators for our Oklahoma operations. This is a highly physical, technical field role focused on safe casing handling, rigging operations, and CRT use on active rig floors. The successful candidate ensures all handling tools, power tongs, and equipment conform to strict safety and job standards while maintaining clear communication with casing crew, supervisors and drilling crews.
Key Responsibilities
Rig Up & Rig Down Operations
- Rigging Up: Assist in rigging up casing equipment, including bringing up necessary tools, specialized equipment, and hydraulic hoses from the power unit up to the rig floor.
- Tail Rope Setup: Properly rig up the tail rope in compliance with operational and safety protocols.
- Rigging Down: Efficiently disassemble, clean, and rig down casing equipment upon job completion.
Tool Operation & Casing Handling
- Tong Operations: Handle, move, position, and operate casing or tubing tongs safely on the rig floor.
- Backup Tongs: Throw backup tongs quickly and accurately when needed during making or breaking connections.
- Equipment Navigation: Safely operate, maneuver, and navigate approved field equipment and machinery.
Quality, Inspection & Hazards
- Equipment Inspection: Examine and inspect casing equipment to verify conformance to all applicable quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Defect Identification: Monitor and review equipment during operations to identify errors, problems, physical defects, or missing components.
- Hazard Prevention: Observe ongoing rig operations and environmental shifts to recognize, report, and prevent potential safety hazards.
- Customer Specifications: Ensure all tasks are completed in strict accordance with individual customer scopes and company safety policies.
Site Housekeeping & Team Communication
- Housekeeping: Keep the rig floor, tool areas, and active work zones clean, organized, and free of slip/trip hazards.
- Crew Communication: Maintain effective, clear, and proactive verbal communication with casing supervisors, drillers, and fellow crew members.
- Task Performance: Perform all other company-related oilfield duties as required by operations management.
Qualifications & Job Requirements Education & Experience
- Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience: 6+ months of experience working in casing or on an oil and gas drilling rig is required.
Skills & Safety Mindset
- Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with drilling crews.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to identify information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing operational differences, and detecting real-time changes in events.
- Safety Gear: Safety-toe boots and FR-rated clothing are required for this role (Company provides coveralls).
Physical & Medical Demands
- Stamina: Ability to stand for 10 to 12 hours and walk for approximately 3 hours throughout the workday.
- Lifting: Ability to frequently lift and carry between 10 to 50 lbs, with occasional heavy lifting of 20 to 100 lbs throughout the shift.
- Screening: Must pass a pre-employment urinalysis drug screening.
Logistics & Compliance
- Location: Must live within a 2-hour driving distance of Weatherford, OK.
- Transportation: Must have own reliable transportation to respond to calls. A valid Driver's License is preferred, along with a secondary form of identification.
- Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
