We are seeking a motivated Assembly Technician to join our team in Webb City, MO. The ideal candidate for this role is not only mechanically inclined but also has verifiable electrical OR welding experience in addition to the skills required for assembly and maintenance. This exciting opportunity is responsible for the accurate assembly of automated packaging machines according to mechanical drawings and assembly prints.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities relating to Assembly with Electrical OR Welding emphasis:

Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and assembly instructions.

Install and wire electrical components including motors, sensors, control panels, junction boxes, and field devices.

Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues during machine startup.

Assemble custom industrial machinery from engineering drawings and bills of material.

Verify conformance of components to the Bill of Material as well as the alignment and tolerances of moving parts.

Assemble, fit, align, plumb, and integrate workstations or systems that may include pneumatics and hydraulics, electrical sensing components, power transmission systems, conveyor systems and feeder systems.

Ability to troubleshoot, service, and perform required repairs to automation equipment.

Perform electrical testing, troubleshooting and verification to ensure the automated equipment or system is functioning as it is designed to.

Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area

Participate in continuous ongoing safety training

Other duties as assigned
Additional Tasks related to Maintenance:

Maintain building lighting, plumbing, HVAC filters, doors, and general repairs.

Coordinate outside contractors for specialized maintenance projects.

Maintain company grounds including landscaping, and exterior appearance.

Monitor facility safety equipment and assist with OSHA compliance initiatives.
Skills and Abilities Essential to the Position

Expert in the use of hand tools required for machine assembly
-
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
-
Ability to perform electrical testing and troubleshooting if needed

Ability to stand, stoop, and/or kneel for extended periods of time
-
Reliability is a must
-
Must be able to work independently and collaboratively to suggest ideas and resolve issues in a positive manner
Experience
-
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the assembly of packaging equipment or similar
-
3 years' working with electrical components and wiring (preferred)
-
Familiarity with pneumatic systems and industrial controls.

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and common shop equipment.

Experience with MIG welding; TIG welding experience preferred.
