About the Opportunity

We are a growing residential home services organization seeking an experienced Installation Operations Manager to lead our residential installation operations. This leadership position is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring high-quality workmanship, developing successful teams, and supporting the continued growth of a multi-location organization.The ideal candidate is an experienced HVAC professional with exceptional leadership skills, strong operational knowledge, and a passion for developing people while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Position Summary

The Installation Operations Manager oversees all aspects of residential installation operations, including employee leadership, scheduling, quality assurance, customer satisfaction, safety, compliance, and operational performance. This individual works closely with leadership and cross-functional departments to improve processes, increase efficiency, and support organizational growth.This position requires a hands-on leader who is comfortable both in the office and in the field supporting installation teams.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Lead, coach, mentor, and develop installation supervisors, installers, apprentices, and support staff.
Oversee the daily operations of the installation department, including scheduling, manpower planning, workload distribution, and project execution.
Partner with Sales, Service, Operations, and other departments to ensure projects are completed efficiently and customers receive an exceptional experience.
Ensure all installations are completed safely, on time, and in accordance with company quality standards.
Manage permitting, inspections, and compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Recruit, interview, hire, train, and retain qualified installation personnel.
Conduct field visits, ride-alongs, quality assurance inspections, and job site coaching.
Monitor departmental performance metrics, productivity, installation quality, callback rates, and customer satisfaction.
Identify operational challenges and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.
Assist with employee performance management, coaching, development plans, and corrective action when necessary.
Resolve escalated customer concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Assist with departmental budgeting, forecasting, staffing, and strategic planning initiatives.
Oversee company vehicles, tools, inventory, mobile devices, and other field assets to ensure proper utilization and accountability.
Promote a culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, OSHA standards, and applicable safety regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in residential HVAC installation or a related home services industry.
Strong technical knowledge of residential HVAC systems, airflow, duct design, equipment installation, and industry best practices.
Thorough understanding of permitting requirements, inspections, building codes, and regulatory compliance.
Proven ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop successful teams.
Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and field service management software.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to successfully complete a background check, motor vehicle record review, and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

Current State HVAC Contractor License strongly preferred. Candidates who hold an active license will receive additional compensation in recognition of this qualification.
EPA Certification
NATE Certification
Experience managing multiple installation teams or multiple operating locations.
Experience with residential field service management software.
