Lead the Development of an Office-Based Surgical Program
Cascadian Plastic Surgery is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to serve as our Clinical Nurse Manager. This leadership position combines direct patient care with the opportunity to develop, manage, and oversee a growing office-based procedure program.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and enjoys building systems that promote patient safety and exceptional surgical care. This individual will work closely with the plastic surgeon and administrative team to ensure that our office-based procedure room operates efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality, regulatory compliance, and patient experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse with operating room or ambulatory surgery experience who is excited to take ownership of a growing clinical program.
Position Summary
The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for the day-to-day clinical operations of the office-based procedure room and will lead efforts to obtain and maintain Quad A accreditation. The role includes direct patient care, perioperative nursing, staff coordination, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, inventory management, and collaboration with physicians and administrative staff.
The successful candidate will enjoy a mix of leadership responsibilities and hands-on nursing care.
Primary Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership
- Manage daily clinical operations of the office-based procedure room
- Lead the practice through initial Quad A accreditation and ongoing compliance
- Develop and maintain policies, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, OSHA, infection prevention, and medication safety requirements
- Maintain readiness for accreditation surveys and inspections
- Promote a culture of patient safety and continuous quality improvement
Perioperative Nursing
- Cross-cover perioperative nursing responsibilities as needed
- Provide preoperative assessment and patient education
- Monitor patients during postoperative recovery
- Assist with discharge planning and patient instructions
Clinic Responsibilities
- Assist with patient triage under supervision
- Support physician during clinic visits
- Perform wound care and postoperative assessments
- Educate patients regarding postoperative recovery and expectations
- Answer clinical questions and coordinate patient care under supervision
Staff Coordination
- Coordinate schedules for per diem clinical staff, including:
- Scrub technicians
- Perioperative and circulating nurses
- Anesthesiologists
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs)
- Assist with onboarding and orientation of clinical personnel
- Foster a collaborative and positive team environment
Surgical Operations
- Coordinate with administrative staff to ensure procedures are appropriately scheduled
- Confirm equipment, supplies, implants, and medications are available before each procedure
- Manage inventory and ordering of medical supplies and equipment
- Manage sterile processing
- Maintain emergency equipment and medication readiness
- Assist with vendor relationships and purchasing
Call Responsibilities
- Participate in occasional evening and weekend call for patient questions and clinical triage
Call responsibilities are generally light and consist primarily of telephone triage.
Qualifications:
Required
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State (or eligible for licensure)
- Current BLS certification
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in perioperative nursing in the hospital, ambulatory surgical center, or office surgery setting
Preferred
- Experience in the operating room
- Familiarity with procedural sedation and postoperative recovery
- Experience with accreditation, regulatory compliance, or quality improvement initiatives
- Experience supervising or coordinating clinical staff
Plastic surgery experience is welcomed but not required.
