Senior Accounting Manager

What You'll Do
In this role, you’ll lead accounting across Dovex's agricultural operations and real estate holdings, partnering closely with operations, sales, and executive leadership.
Financial Reporting & Close
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, delivering timely and accurate GAAP-compliant financial statements
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules across operating entities
- Oversee multi-entity consolidations and intercompany eliminations
- Partner with the external accounting firm on financial and tax reporting
Agricultural & Orchard Accounting
- Oversee crop cost accounting and orchard cost allocations across owned and managed orchards
- Partner with sales on reporting and ensure accurate accounting for crop inputs, harvest, and storage
Commercial Real Estate
- Manage accounting for rental income across Dovex's real estate portfolio, including lease billing, revenue recognition, and tenant reconciliations
- Maintain property-level records for operating expenses, depreciation, and capital improvements, and ensure proper GAAP treatment of lease agreements
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, with attention to seasonal revenue, inventory, and biological asset risks
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including Washington tax requirements
- Identify process improvement opportunities and lead best-practice implementation
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals
- Set clear expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and support professional growth
- Manage workload planning through peak seasonal periods
Systems & Reporting
- Serve as a finance lead on ERP and accounting system optimization initiatives
- Build and maintain reporting packages for senior leadership and ownership
- Partner with operations to strengthen cost tracking, variance analysis, and reporting
What We're Looking For
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred
- Experience in Accounting in a people leadership role
- Strong GAAP expertise across revenue recognition, inventory costing, and fixed assets
- Experience with multi-entity accounting and consolidations
- High proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to prioritize well during peak periods
Nice to Have
- Experience in agriculture, agribusiness, or other seasonal or commodities-based industries
- Familiarity with crop cost accounting or orchard operations
- Knowledge of Washington sales and use tax compliance
- Commercial real estate accounting experience, including lease revenue recognition and/or ASC 842
Work Environment
This role is based at Dovex's headquarters in Wenatchee, Washington, in the heart of tree fruit country. You’ll work in a collaborative, on-site environment with direct exposure to operations and close partnership with leadership.
