SUMMARY OF THE JOB
Fabricate various types of products according to blueprints and schematics. Responsible for assembling an entire product or component of a product using tools, machines, and hands.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1.
Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses. May set up and operate machine tools associated with fabricating shops, such as radial drill press, end mill, and edge planer.
2.
Fabricate and assemble structural products, such as framework or shells for machinery according to job order, verbal instructions, and blueprints. Develop layout and plan sequence of operations, applying knowledge of trigonometry, stock allowances for thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and physical properties of material.
3.
Study and interpret assembly instructions, blueprints and schematics. Determine if all parts are present. Position parts and subassemblies Assemble components ensuring that all parts are fitted and fastened properly. Verify conformance to specifications using square, measuring tape, multimeter or other diagnostic or measuring equipment.
4.
Resolve assembly and production issues. Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed. Report errors to engineering and management.
5.
May build prototypes and test products.
6.
May check stock or inventory levels and place orders for supplies.
7.
Practice personal safety and follow all area safety practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Safety Manager.
8.
Ensure working environment is clean and safe. Maintain a clean and organized work area.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Is expected to work under occasional supervision related to specific work activities, assignments, and methods. Receives frequent communication in reference to job activities. Instructions are detailed and assignments are typically short-term.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High School degree or two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires knowledge of industrial mechanic, hydraulic, pneumatic, boiler, and electrical processes. Requires knowledge and experience with high and low voltage, AC/DC drives, PLC/VFD controls, resolvers, sensors, stepper motors, and temperature controls. Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, relay logic, and electronic equipment is preferred. Requires intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
NECESSARY SKILLS
This job requires knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods. Requires being proficient in the use of a multi meter and other diagnostic or measurement equipment necessary to measure precision parts. Employee must be able to work in a team environment. Job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a cooperative attitude. Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks. Job requires being reliable, respectful, responsible and dependable.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form. Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language. Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The ability to communicate information and ideas, in speaking, so others will understand. The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers or employees of organization. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Well-lighted, heated but not climate controlled indoor shop environment/production setting with adequate ventilation.The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee will work in extreme heat in the summer and cold in the winter. The employee will be exposed to dust particles, fumes and vibration. The employee will be working around moving mechanical machinery. Job requires wearing common protective or safety equipment.

This job requires moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily production/technical nature. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, lift and carry material up to 25 lbs. Job requires repeating the same physical activities over and over. The employee must have manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with the fingers and perceive the attributes of objects and materials. The employee is required to move hands, hands together with arms, or two hands to grasp, manipulate or position objects. The employee must bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs. The employee is required to time movements or the movement of a piece of equipment in anticipation of changes in the speed and/or direction of a moving object. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into focus.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
