Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Turfgrass Manager/Horticulturist to lead the maintenance and enhancement of our clients properties. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in horticulture, soils, lawn and landscape healthcare maintenance, and groundskeeping to create pristine, healthy, and visually stunning outdoor environments. The Turfgrass Manager oversees the annual healthcare of turfgrass, the operation of landscaping equipment, and ensure safety standards are upheld—all while fostering a vibrant outdoor space that inspires excellence and enjoyment. In addition the Turfgrass Manager will coordinate with Customers regarding their irrigation systems. This individual will also be responsible for government contract Project Management (PM) funded by public agencies. This role will act as the primary link between the company and government officials making sure work strictly follows public laws, budgets, and the Statement of Work (SOW.)

Duties

Develop and implement comprehensive turf healthcare management programs to promote healthy turf growth.
Inspection of Customer irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules, troubleshoot issues, and perform system upgrades or repairs as needed.
Oversee annual lawn and landscape service rounds and applications schedules which include fertilization, soil amendments/aerating, and pest control to sustain lush lawns and vibrant gardens.
Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of soil or equipment parts while adhering to proper safety protocols.
Monitor pesticide application processes following safety guidelines to protect the environment and maintain healthy turfgrass.
Manage and maintain detailed customer application service records which includes lawn/turf/landscape health assessments for our customer.
Manage and oversee equipment maintenance, pesticide use, chemical and product inventory, and irrigation schedules.
Collaborate with team members to plan seasonal projects or enhancements that improve overall landscape quality.

Duties Project Manager -- Government Contracts

Overseeing and executing projects within the government sector.
Ensure projects are completed within the set scope, time and budget.
Coordinate with various teams, set goals, and evaluate the success of the project(s).

Qualifications

BS degree in Turfgrass Science/Soils, or Agronomy or Horticulture, or high school diploma or equivalent degree with 2-4 years experience in turfgrass/landscape management.
Proven experience in turf management, horticulture, or groundskeeping within sports fields or golf course environments.
Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, landscape maintenance practices, pest management, and lawn care techniques.
Skilled in operating grounds maintenance application equipment including spreaders, sprayers, etc.
Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
Familiarity with pesticide management regulations and application procedures.
Excellent understanding of power tool safety standards and equipment maintenance routines.
Valid driver’s license with experience operating company vehicles or specialized groundskeeping machinery.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping related to maintenance activities.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
