Join a Specialized Ophthalmology Practice
Our practice is dedicated to providing exceptional care for patients with dry eye disease and other complex ocular surface disorders. We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Medical Technician to join our team.
This is an opportunity to work closely with Dr. Steven L. Maskin, an internationally recognized ophthalmologist, researcher, and innovator in the treatment of dry eye disease. You'll gain exposure to advanced diagnostic testing and specialized procedures while working in a collaborative, patient-centered environment committed to clinical excellence.
We are primarily seeking candidates with prior ophthalmic experience. However, applicants with ophthalmic scrub technician, surgical technologist, or comparable microsurgical experience are also encouraged to apply, as specialty training can be provided for the right individual.

Core Responsibilities
As a member of our clinical team, you will:
- Obtain patient ocular and medical histories, medications, allergies, and chief complaints
- Perform preliminary ophthalmic testing and diagnostic procedures
- Assist the physician during examinations and office-based procedures
- Accurately document patient encounters within the electronic medical record
- Educate patients regarding medications, testing, procedures, and treatment plans
- Prepare examination and procedure rooms while maintaining sterilization standards
- Anticipate physician needs and assist efficiently throughout the clinical day
- Maintain instruments, supplies, and clinical equipment
- Prepare patient charts for clinic visits and surgical procedures
- Coordinate surgical scheduling and pre-operative requirements
- Respond professionally to patient phone calls and electronic communications
- Help create a welcoming, efficient, and compassionate patient experience

Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associates preferred
- Minimum two years of clinical medical experience
Preferred
- One or more years of ophthalmic technician or ophthalmic assistant experience
- Experience assisting with ophthalmic procedures
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmic equipment and diagnostic testing
