Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Office Collection Clerk to join our dynamic billing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing collections, ensuring accurate account reconciliation, and maintaining seamless communication with clients and internal departments. Your energetic approach will help optimize revenue cycle management processes, support accounts receivable and payable functions, and uphold the highest standards of customer service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial health of our organization while developing your expertise in accounting practices.

Responsibilities

Manage collections by following up on outstanding accounts receivable through phone calls, emails, and written correspondence with customers.
Verify and process accounts payable transactions accurately within our financial software systems.
Maintain professional phone etiquette when communicating with clients and internal teams to resolve billing issues efficiently.
Perform account analysis and reconciliation to ensure all debits & credits are correctly posted and discrepancies are promptly addressed.
Negotiate payment plans or settlements with debtors while adhering to company policies and compliance standards.
Support revenue cycle management activities by monitoring accounts, analyzing financial data and producing reports, and assisting with month-end closing processes.
Direct sales team on collecting monies from customers while out in the field when necessary.

Skills

Strong understanding of collection processes, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions.
Excellent phone etiquette paired with superior customer service skills to handle sensitive financial discussions professionally.
Proficiency in financial software and accounting software for data entry, account reconciliation, and reporting purposes.
Ability to perform detailed account analysis using sound financial concepts; familiarity with debits & credits is essential.
Effective negotiation skills to facilitate payment arrangements while maintaining positive client relationships.
Basic math skills for accurate calculations related to payments, adjustments, and account balances.
