Position Summary
We are looking for individual with experience in a manufacturing environment for our foundry-worker role in our centrifugal casting foundry, melting and pouring babbitt. This role is ideal for someone that has a strong mechanical aptitude and can follow detailed procedures to complete a critical operation for our bearing components.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and inspect bearing components for casting.
- Dip parts in cleaner and acid tanks as required.
- Operate overhead cranes, hoists, rotating equipment, and related foundry machinery.
- Melt and pour babbitt according to approved formulas, temperatures, and procedures.
- Monitor the casting process to ensure proper bonding, coverage, and quality.
- Perform finishing, cleaning, trimming, and inspection of completed parts.
- Record production and inspection information accurately.
- Follow all safety procedures for molten metal, chemicals, hot surfaces, cranes, and PPE.
- Maintain a clean work area and report quality or equipment issues.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Foundry or industrial manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read and follow formulas, work instructions, routings, and engineering drawings.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to learn and safely operate cranes, hoists, rotating equipment, and chemical tanks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively with others.
- Reliable attendance and willingness to learn.
Physical and Working Conditions
- Work in a hot, industrial foundry environment with exposure to molten metal, noise, fumes, dust, and chemicals.
- Wear required PPE, including heat-resistant clothing, gloves, face shields, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
- Stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, reach, and handle tools or materials.
- Work safely around overhead cranes, suspended loads, hot parts, and industrial equipment.
- At least 18 years of age
- A US citizen or Green Card holder
- Able to read, write, speak and understand English at a high school level.
Environmental, Health & Safety Requirements:
- Complete all work in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements consistent with supporting the Company’s goals.
- Lifting guidelines in accordance with the Manual Lifting Guidelines noted in the Safety Handbook.
- Follow all environmental requirements consistently with supporting the company’s environmental performance goals.
- Complete, and actively participate in all other EHS training requirements.
