Part-Time Junior Interior Designer (Hybrid)
Residential Renovations | SketchUp + Construction Drawings
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants real responsibility, enjoys residential design, and is excited to help shape the future of a growing design-build company.
We Need Your Help.
Our clients are excited to renovate... and they usually wanted to start yesterday.
Our construction team is incredibly efficient because we believe the best renovations happen when every detail is thoughtfully planned before demolition begins.
The challenge? We have more projects than our current design team can prepare for construction.
That's where you come in.
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving design challenges, loves details, and wants to help transform homes from concept to construction.
What You'll Do
You'll help bring renovation projects to life by creating designs that homeowners can easily visualize and construction teams can confidently build.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating SketchUp models and Layout drawings
- Developing construction drawings that are clear, detailed, and buildable
- Producing client presentations and renderings
- Selecting finishes, fixtures, materials, and color palettes
- Creating mood boards and design concepts
- Assisting with space planning and design development
- Organizing project information within our online project management system
- Collaborating closely with clients, designers, and our construction team
What You'll Gain
This isn't just a drafting position.
You'll have the opportunity to see projects from the first client meeting through completed construction.
We offer:
- Flexible work hours (deadlines matter more than clocking in)
- Hands-on experience in residential remodeling
- Opportunities to develop your design skills
- Creative freedom to contribute ideas
- Real projects that will build your portfolio
- A supportive team that values initiative and creativity
If you have great ideas, we want to hear them.
Who We're Looking For
Someone who is:
- Creative and detail-oriented
- Self-motivated and accountable
- Comfortable managing multiple projects
- A strong communicator
- Curious and eager to learn
- Able to take ownership of a project and move it forward
You'll participate in:
- Site visits
- Client meetings
- Virtual meetings
- Collaboration with our construction team
- Phone and email communication during normal business hours
The Ideal Candidate
You don't need to know everything.
You do need to enjoy figuring things out.
We're looking for someone who takes initiative, asks thoughtful questions, and keeps projects moving without waiting to be told every next step.
If you enjoy turning ideas into detailed plans, love residential design, and want to see your work become someone's home, we'd love to meet you.

Nice to Have
Not required, but a plus:
- SketchUp Layout
- Enscape or other rendering software
- Residential remodeling experience
- Cabinet design experience
- Knowledge of construction methods
- Interior Design degree or current student
Compensation
We're looking for the right person, not necessarily the person with the longest résumé.
If you're reliable, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and take pride in producing exceptional work, we'd love to meet you.
Compensation starts at $25 per hour, with opportunities for increases based on experience, performance, and the value you bring to our team.
This position is expected to be 10-20 hours per week, although hours may vary depending on the stage and volume of our projects.
As our company continues to grow, we anticipate this role growing as well. We're looking for someone who wants to grow alongside us and become an important part of our team for years to come.
We believe in taking great care of our clients, and we believe in taking great care of the people who help us do that.
