The Histology Technician possesses excellent interpersonal skills, problem identification and resolution abilities. The Histology Technician assures laboratories compliance in meeting the standards set forth by JCAHO, DHEC, CLIA and College of American Pathologist (CAP).

Minimum Training and Education: Education: Associates degree from an accredited college/university. Experience: No experience required.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: HT(ASCP) certification by American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) or equivalent preferred, however, if not certified, must have completed a NACCLS Accredited HT/HTL Program and be certification eligible, certification must be achieved within 1 year of hire, until certification achieved salary will be 10% less.

Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception.
