Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, facilitating a smooth and efficient patient intake process. Your responsibilities will include verifying patient information, scheduling appointments, and ensuring compliance with health regulation policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong medical administrative skills, knowledge of health insurance procedures, and experience with electronic health records systems. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care by providing exceptional service and support within a dynamic healthcare environment.

Duties

The Registration Representative is responsible for performing all tasks related to patient pre‑registration and registration for both inpatients and outpatients.
This includes securing upfront collections, assisting uninsured patients with eligibility screening, and guiding them through benefit application processes.
The role ensures accurate documentation, financial counseling support, and compliance with hospital, physician, and patient needs.
Pre‑Registration & Registration: Register patients efficiently and accurately, calculate co‑pays and co‑insurance, and secure upfront collections.
Eligibility Screening: Complete training to interview and screen uninsured patients for state programs and temporary/full scope Medi‑Cal coverage.
Application Assistance: Help patients complete necessary paperwork for benefits and compile records to determine eligibility.
Documentation & Database Updates: Maintain accurate records, update databases with outcomes, and ensure successful completion of processes.
Financial Counseling Support: Enhance registration knowledge and develop financial counseling skills, including understanding diverse financial programs offered.
Customer Service: Provide hospitable service to meet patient, physician, and hospital needs.

MUST HAVE:

1+ yr of Patient Registration/ Admitting experience
Recent experience working in hospital
Experience in calculating upfront collections with co-pays, and co-insurance
Should have minimum High School Diploma and should have a physical copy of the highest education for education verification
Knowledge of Insurance Authorization
Good knowledge of Hospital Billing
Strong typing skills 45+ WPM
Should have outpatient registration experience (OPD)
Should be open to working overtime

Shift Timing: 8AM-4:30PM

Weekly schedule: M-F

CH1

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
