Full Job Description

Job Summary

The Production Planner is responsible for ensuring timely material availability for new product builds from prototypes through production release. This role supports the Production, Engineering, and Quality Assurance departments to maintain a robust material pipeline.

Job Responsibilities:

Create/develop master schedule to outline product, lead times and completion times to ensure internal delivery commitments are met by monitoring lead times, capacity, and material status.
Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to plan and manage builds for our various product lines. forecasted demand.
Manage multi‑level, high‑complexity Bills of Material (BOMs) for new products and ensure BOM accuracy.
Work with contract manufacturers to manage assembly quotations, purchase orders, and resolve material alignment issues.
Coordinate material procurement and readiness including resolving material shortages proactively.
Prepare and submit status and performance reports.
Identify and understand when to escalate issues that may impact schedule, cost, or quality.
Lead the successful handoff of new products to high‑volume manufacturing.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
Ability to perform effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated proactive planning capabilities and strong leadership skills.
Strong understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) concepts and systems.
Proficiency in MS Office (advanced Excel and PowerPoint preferred) and experience with ERP systems.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and shop aid sketches.
Ability to handle complex situations and solve complex problems.
Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
Ability to work in a team environment with strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Professionalism, integrity, and exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Must be detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated.
3–5 years of production or material planning experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
Proven success in mentoring, training, or leading others on the shop floor.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Productivity: Incumbents must perform work in an efficient, effective, and timely manner with minimal direction.

Mobility: Incumbents are required to participate in assigned physical activities which may include light lifting and standing for prolonged periods of time.

Vision: Vision sufficient to read printed documents, computer screens, and observe behavior of others.

Environment: Typical manufacturing shop floor conditions, directly working with Manufacturing management team and external customers.

Other Factors: Typical hours worked are Monday – Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 03:30 p.m. Incumbents are currently required to work occasional extended hours and weekend overtime, as applicable by law.

Frequently required to use hands or fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Often required; reach with hands and arms; and stoop. Occasionally required to; climb or balance; kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

Pay: $29.00 - $33.00 per hour
