About the Role
We're looking for a Director of Website Projects to join our team at Law Firm Sites!
This person will be responsible for overseeing our website projects from the time a client signs on through the time their new website goes live. You'll be the primary point of contact for clients during that process, but you'll also work closely with our internal designers, developers, writers, and other team members to keep projects moving.
We need someone who understands the website build process and also understands how to provide best-in-class customer service to clients.
You don't need to be a programmer, and we're not expecting you to personally develop websites. It will help you to understand what goes into launching a website, including things like hosting, domains, DNS, server transfers, website migrations, staging environments, redirects, and the other technical pieces that come with launching a new site or replacing an existing one.
A big part of your job will simply be making sure things get done — correctly, on time, and without the client having to wonder what's happening with their project.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll manage multiple website projects at the same time, each at different stages of the build process.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Serving as the primary client contact throughout the website build process
- Setting expectations with clients and keeping them informed about project progress
- Coordinating work between our design, development, content, SEO, and other internal teams
- Keeping website projects moving and identifying bottlenecks before they become problems
- Tracking deadlines, deliverables, approvals, revisions, and outstanding client requests
- Reviewing projects to make sure important details aren't missed
- Coordinating website launches, migrations, hosting changes, and related technical tasks
- Helping resolve issues that come up during website builds
- Improving our internal website production processes
- Identifying recurring problems and developing systems to prevent them
- Helping us find ways to build better websites more efficiently
We've had a project manager in this role for many years - what we're looking for now is someone who can join this department as a director with an improvement mentality. Our team and our product has worked for many years for a reason, so we want someone who can preserve what makes us great, but push the growth we need to continue to scale.
Who We're Looking For
Communication is the single most important part of this job. You'll be working with clients who may know very little about websites as well as developers and designers who know quite a lot about them. You need to be able to communicate comfortably with both.
We're looking for someone who:
- Communicates extremely well, both in writing and verbally
- Is comfortable talking directly with clients
- Can manage difficult conversations without avoiding them
- Is highly organized and good at keeping track of details
- Can manage many projects simultaneously without losing sight of where each one stands
- Takes ownership of projects instead of waiting for someone else to solve problems
- Understands the website development process from beginning to end
- Has enough technical website knowledge to communicate effectively with developers
- Can recognize when something isn't right, even if they aren't the person responsible for fixing it
- Is comfortable creating processes, documentation, and systems
- Follows through
We're less concerned about whether you've held the exact title "Director of Website Projects" before. We care much more about whether you've actually done this type of work and understand what it takes to get websites across the finish line.
Extra Credit
None of these are requirements, but they'll definitely get our attention:
- Experience with SEO and an understanding of SEO best practices
- Basic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, or other programming knowledge
- Experience with WordPress
- Experience managing hosting, domains, DNS, or website migrations
- Experience working at a web design, digital marketing, or SEO agency
- A good eye for website design and UX
- Experience improving project management or website production processes
About Law Firm Sites
Law Firm Sites is a digital marketing agency based in Lehi, Utah. We primarily work with law firms throughout the country, helping them with website design, development, SEO, hosting, and digital marketing.
We've been building websites for law firms for close to 20 years, and we're looking for someone who can take real ownership of the website production side of what we do.
We're not looking for someone who simply updates project statuses and schedules meetings. We want someone who understands the work, communicates well with clients, keeps our internal team organized, and continually looks for ways we can make our website process better.
A Note About Applying
We're are hiring a real person, so we'd like to hear from the real you.
Please send us your resume along with a short note telling us a little about your experience and why this position caught your attention. It doesn't need to sound impressive. It doesn't need to be perfectly written. We'd much rather read something genuine than a polished cover letter that could have been sent to 50 other companies.
In fact, please don't use AI to write your application for you.
We're not anti-AI — we're a digital marketing company, and we use the technology every day. But communication is a huge part of this particular job, and we want to get a sense of how you actually communicate.
We look forward to hearing from you!
