Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting various accounting functions across the organization. Your expertise will help maintain accurate financial data, facilitate audits, and contribute to the overall financial health of the company. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to grow their career in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Perform general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation to maintain precise financial records.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems.
Conduct journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and data entry tasks with high accuracy and attention to detail.
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures, including bank reconciliations and audit preparations.
Assist with tax preparation activities and ensure compliance with relevant governmental regulations.
Utilize tools like Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, and other payroll or HR systems for payroll processing and employee data management.
Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining strict data security standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and implement new accounting systems or software solutions such as PeopleSoft or Microsoft Office Excel data analysis tools.

Skills

Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards.
Proficiency in financial software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, ADP, Ceridian, UltiPro, Kronos, Paychex or similar platforms.
Experience with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance procedures is highly desirable.
Excellent numeracy skills coupled with the ability to perform detailed account analysis and account reconciliation.
Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and spreadsheet management; familiarity with pivot tables and formulas is a plus.
Knowledge of technical accounting concepts such as journal entries, debits & credits, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger management.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional attention to detail while handling multiple responsibilities involving confidential information.
Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and support customer service initiatives related to finance inquiries.
