PHARMACY TECHNICIAN CONSULTANT – TRAVELER
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform Automation Dispensing Cabinet (ADC) tasks for customers at hospital and/or
health care system facilities nationally.
- Perform automation technician tasks to optimize customer ADC hardware.
• Collaborate and work under the direct supervision of Pharmacy Management and
RXinnovate point Pharmacist throughout the ADC project.
• ADC equipment prep e.g., tower and refrigerator build, label bins, etc.
• Assign medications to ADC equipment.
• Load medications based on assignment to ADC equipment.
• Identify and recognize ISMP safe medication practices with ADC to assure look alike,
sound alike medications are segregated throughout the ADC hardware.
• Conduct training and education of ADC for Pharmacy and/or Nursing. Conduct end user
training with ADC adhering to compliance with hospital policy and procedures.
• Assist customer and vendor with transporting ADC equipment to the patient care areas.
• Transfer medications from existing ADC to new ADC as needed on the patient care area
during implementation.
• Unload medications from returned ADC equipment. Review expiration dates,
medication integrity, sort, and label for returning to customer inventory.
• Maintain a high level of communication to Pharmacy Management and RXinnovate
Pharmacist to maintain project timeline.
