Full Job Description

The Wok Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality hot dishes using wok cooking techniques while maintaining food quality, consistency, speed, and food safety standards. This role works closely with the kitchen team to ensure guests receive fresh, delicious meals in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation standards.
Operate wok stations efficiently during both slow and high-volume service.
Ensure food quality, taste, temperature, and portion control meet company standards.
Prepare ingredients and complete daily prep work before service.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift.
Follow food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
Properly label, rotate, and store food using FIFO (First In, First Out).
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
Monitor inventory levels and notify management when supplies are running low.
Minimize food waste and use ingredients responsibly.
Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties.
Support other kitchen stations as needed.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a wok cook or line cook preferred.
Knowledge of Asian cuisine and wok cooking techniques is an asset.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
Strong multitasking and time management skills.
Ability to follow recipes and company procedures.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Physical Requirements

Stand and walk for long periods.
Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
Work safely in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.
