West Valley Cleanup Alliance is the prime contractor selected by the U.S. Department of Energy to manage the Phase 1B Deactivation & Demolition Contract at the West Valley Demonstration Project site. The site is a scenic 30-minute drive south of Buffalo, New York. In cooperation with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, West Valley Demonstration Project continues to decontaminate and decommission facilities at this site.

Assume lead engineering responsibility for one or more related phases of work of an engineering discipline as directed by a manager. The engineer will be required to perform and direct a wide variety of engineering and technical duties. The work requires mastery knowledge and application of engineering techniques, principles, and practices employed in the discipline area of assignment.
Education/Experience:
Grade 33:

Bachelor of Science in a relevant engineering discipline from an accredited program, or a Professional Engineering License.

A minimum of eight (8) years of professional engineering experience.

Graduate degree in Engineering may be substituted for some experience.

Requires the application of engineering principles in a specialized technical field.
Grade 34:

Bachelor of Science in a relevant engineering discipline from an accredited program, or a Professional Engineering License.

A minimum of ten (10) years of professional engineering experience.

Graduate degree in Engineering may be substituted for some experience.

Requires the application of engineering principles in a specialized technical field.
Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge in HVAC systems, fluid transfer, water management/treatment, equipment and structural design, and developing specifications required.

Project management experience a plus.

Mechanical or Structural Engineering degree preferred.
