Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to lead our accounts payable operations and ensure the accurate, timely processing of vendor invoices and payments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee a critical financial function within a fast-paced organization, utilizing advanced financial software and systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and experience managing complex accounts payable processes in diverse environments. Join us to help streamline financial workflows, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and support our company's financial health through meticulous management of payables.

Responsibilities

Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice receipt, verification, coding, and payment processing using systems such as Workday, SAP, or Oracle
Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal audit requirements across all payables activities
Manage vendor relationships, resolve invoice discrepancies, and facilitate timely payments to maintain positive supplier relations
Reconcile accounts payable ledger with general ledger using accounting software like QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft
Supervise data entry tasks related to invoice processing and payment transactions, ensuring accuracy with Excel data analysis techniques including VLOOKUP functions and formulas
Collaborate with the finance team on month-end closing activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations related to payables
Lead process improvements by leveraging technology such as HRIS systems (e.g., UltiPro or ADP) and automate workflows to increase efficiency and reduce errors

Skills

Extensive knowledge of accounting principles including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and double-entry bookkeeping
Proficiency in financial software such as Workday, Paychex, Kronos, Ceridian, or ADP for payroll and benefits administration integration
Strong understanding of accounts receivable management alongside accounts payable functions for comprehensive financial oversight
Experience with governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is a plus
Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets using Excel formulas and pivot tables for reporting purposes
Familiarity with tax regulations related to vendor payments and compliance requirements
Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing teams responsible for data entry, account reconciliation, and journal entries
