Full Job Description

Counseling For You is seeking a dependable, organized, and professional Front Desk Coordinator to join our team at our Merrick office.

This is an in-person evening position supporting the daily operations of a busy outpatient mental health practice. The Front Desk Coordinator is often the first point of contact for clients and families and plays an important role in keeping the office organized, welcoming, and running smoothly.

Schedule

This position requires consistent weekday evening availability. Applicants should be available to work approximately 20-40 hours per week during the afternoon and evening hours.

Responsibilities

Greet clients and families and assist with check-in and routine front desk needs.
Answer incoming calls and respond to client questions professionally.
Schedule new and existing clients and assist with appointment changes.
Follow up with prospective clients and assist with scheduling intake appointments.
Communicate with therapists and administrative staff regarding scheduling and client needs.
Collect payments and assist clients with routine billing and insurance questions.
Maintain accurate client information and documentation.
Complete assigned administrative tasks and maintain an organized front desk and waiting area.
Protect client confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements and practice policies.
Assist with closing procedures and ensure the office is properly secured at the end of the evening.

Qualifications

Strong communication and customer service skills.
Reliable, punctual, and able to consistently work weekday evening hours.
Organized and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities.
Comfortable answering phones and communicating with clients and families.
Able to work independently and use good judgment when handling routine office situations.
Comfortable learning scheduling systems and office software.
Previous experience in a medical, mental health, healthcare, or professional office setting is preferred but not required.

Position Details

Part-time position or Full-time position
Approximately 20-40 hours per week.
Weekday afternoon and evening schedule.
In-person position at our Merrick office.
Training provided.

We are looking for someone who wants a consistent part-time position and can become a reliable, long-term member of our administrative team.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
