Full Job Description

Location: White Plains, NY (Hybrid)
Job Type: 12-Month Contract (Potential Extension) W2 only
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Hybrid (Minimum 3 Days Onsite)

Lloyd Staffing is partnering with a leading energy and infrastructure organization seeking a CAD Operator/Designer to support engineering design and capital improvement projects involving electrical, mechanical, and civil infrastructure.

About the Role

As a CAD Operator, you'll use AutoCAD to develop and revise engineering drawings for a variety of infrastructure projects. You'll work closely with engineering and design teams to translate concepts, sketches, and specifications into accurate construction documents while ensuring compliance with industry standards and drafting best practices.

Responsibilities

Produce and revise engineering drawings using AutoCAD for electrical, mechanical, and civil/structural projects
Develop detailed construction drawings from engineering sketches, specifications, and design criteria
Create schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, layouts, assembly drawings, and technical details
Update and maintain existing engineering drawing packages
Organize drawing sets to ensure constructability and consistency with engineering standards
Collaborate with engineers and designers to resolve drawing revisions and technical questions
Maintain engineering documentation within an Engineering Document Management System (EDMS)
Assist with quality control of engineering drawings and documentation

Qualifications

High School Diploma, Technical Trade School Certificate, or equivalent experience
Minimum of two years of CAD drafting experience
Strong proficiency with AutoCAD
Experience with Raster Design
Experience working within an Engineering Document Management System (EDMS)
Understanding of engineering drafting standards and construction documentation
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Experience

Utility, industrial, manufacturing, energy, or infrastructure projects
Electrical, mechanical, or civil/structural drafting
Construction documentation and engineering design packages
Working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
