Performs maternal-fetal medicine high-risk obstetric ultrasounds working with on-site perinatologists to include: First trimester ultrasounds, with and without transvaginal ultrasounds. Detailed anatomy level one & level two ultrasounds in the second and third trimester. Fetal Echocardiography. Nuchal Translucency/Nasal Bone. Maternal and fetal Doppler studies. BPP 3D ultrasounds Ultrasounds on patients with high BMI in pregnancy scanning multiples Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed. Demonstrates professional behavior/conduct in all interactions, fosters teamwork, efficient use of resources, and quality patient outcomes. Produces high-quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation. Prepares and maintains accurate documentation. Demonstrates competence in performing prescribed invasive/interventional procedures if applicable in accordance with established policies if applicable. Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and notify appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance. Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors. Adheres to safety policies. Accountable for the ethical, legal, professional, and certification responsibilities related to the practice. This includes maintaining the confidentiality of all work information. Assures the efficient operation of the workflow of the department. Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and materials to ensure non-interruption of services. Independently performs procedures in accordance with department/facility policies and guidelines.

Responsibilities:
1. 1. Demonstrates excellent customer service through positive patient experience; promotes positive inter/intradepartmental communications and relationships; maintains confidentiality. 2. With guidance and supervision from the Clinical Coordinator, operate ultrasound equipment, adjust controls according to the organ to be examined, depth of field, and other test specifications to obtain a medical diagnosis with the use of appropriate acoustical parameters and in accordance with accepted protocols. 3. Maintains knowledge of procedures/protocols applies knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and can identify pathology, within the scope of practice to obtain necessary diagnostic information. 4. Properly identifies patient information using two patient identifiers and complies with National Patient Safety Goals standards. Performs procedures as outlined including but not limited to routine, specialized, emergency, and urgent imaging procedures. Responsible for providing accurate, high-quality exams. 5. Maintains operational communication with Clinical Coordinator and manager; shares information and follows through with assigned tasks. 6. Operates and maintains exam room and equipment, evaluates equipment problems, and takes appropriate action to expedite necessary service or repair. Demonstrates knowledge/understanding in effectively operating all equipment. Performs quality checks on equipment in accordance with departmental procedures. Keeps work areas stocked with appropriate supplies. Keeps all imaging rooms neat and clean. Ensures supplies in the work area are not damaged or outdated. Discards waste in appropriate waste containers according to established procedures. 7. Recognizes examination findings that may require immediate clinical response and notifies the MFM Physician and verifies timely transfer of images to the AS Software system. 8. Assures ongoing compliance with JC, MQSA, and ACR regulatory and DPH/CMS requirements. Participates in departmental quality assurance activities. Supports QC activities in the department. 9. Always presents self to all patients and other customers in a pleasant, professional, and courteous manner. 10. Attends and participates in in-service meetings and other designated training events that will enhance clinical skills as documented by attendance at meetings/seminars. 11. Accurately inputs data, demographics, and information into appropriate modality specific computer applications and systems. 12. Assists in the training of technologists when assigned to the same work area according to departmental procedures, where applicable. Demonstrates a willingness to learn new procedures and accept new responsibilities. 13. Observes strict safety standards in specialty, ensuring the safety of patients, family members, staff, and visitors. Maintains an environment that is free of hazards. 14. Utilizes time in an effective manner by coordinating patients and procedures to achieve maximum productivity as observed by the supervisor. 15. Maintain AIUM standards of practice and AIUM standards on patient safety.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION
Associates of Science (Required). Completion of an accredited program in Medical Ultrasound. Prior experience specifically in perinatal imaging preferred. Bachelor's Cardiovascular preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Has two or more years' work experience performing Maternal Fetal Medicine ultrasound. (having the ARDMS in OB-GYN). Has two or greater years' experience in Fetal Echocardiogram and is registered in Fetal Echocardiography (FE) Specialty under either the RDMS or RDCS credentials through ARDMS. Maintain all skills with certification on an ongoing basis.
LICENSURE
RDMS (OB) required within six months of hire. Nuchal Translucency required within six months of hire. Valid and active ARDMS or RDCS, Basic Cardiac Life Support. American Heart Association required. Associates degree or preferred bachelors with Has two or greater years' work experience performing Maternal Fetal Medicine ultrasound. (having the ARDMS in OB-GYN). Has two or greater years' experience in Fetal Echocardiogram and is registered in Fetal Echocardiography (FE) Specialty under either the RDMS or RDCS credentials through ARDMS.
