Full Job Description

A busy medical, surgical and cosmetic Dermatology private practice office in Granville, OH is seeking a personable, skilled, motivated and experienced team player for a full-time (Monday-Thursday) Medical Assistant position. The candidate must have a pleasant, energetic and professional personality, with an emphasis on positivity, while working as part of a health care team to deliver the highest level of patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities Include:

Escort patient to the exam room.
Document patient detailed medical history, chief complaint, vital signs including weight, temperature and height, current medications and allergies using eDerm Systems EHR on iPad.
Assist Physician with exams, medical and cosmetic procedures, biopsies, excisions and Mohs surgeries.
Scribe for Physician using eDerm Systems EHR on iPad.
Administer medications and perform tests.
Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
Suture removal.
Reviewing Physician directed treatment plan and home instructions with the patient.
Provide efficient patient care.
Supply patients with answers regarding medications, pre-op/post-op and wound care.
E-Prescribe medications to pharmacy, process prior authorizations, enter patient data into iPledge program and schedule appointments using electronic software.
Ensure all related reports, labs and information are available in patients’ electronic health record prior to their appointment.
Take telephone messages; provide feedback and answers to Physician/patient/pharmacy calls.
Triage and process electronic messages from patients and front office staff to Physician.
Call patient with lab pathology and culture results.
Order medical supplies, frequently sanitize and restock examination rooms.
Sterilize instruments using an autoclave and perform monthly in-office Biological monitoring tests.

Required Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent.
1-2 years of medical assisting experience in a practice setting.
Electronic Health Records (EHR).
Experience with scribing for a Physician.
Familiarity with an iPad.
Exceptional patient care and phone etiquette.
Strong team player.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the professionalism to communicate with clarity both verbally and in writing.
Capable of multi-tasking and detail-oriented.
Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.
Knowledge of medical terminology and medication names, HIPAA and fully complies with OSHA workplace safety regulations.
