Full Job Description

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, and home to Baystate Medical Center (BMC), is looking for Patient Care Technicians to join our Acute Care for Elders team in Springfield, MA.

SCHEDULE:

Part-time & Full-time
Day shift
Rotating weekends and holidays

Daly 6A – Acute Care for Elders/Medical Telemetry

· Collaborative, growing team led by an engaged Manager committed to professional development and patient experience

· 39-bed unit serving older adults, including 16 semi-private rooms and 5 end-of-life care rooms

· Opportunities to participate in nurse-driven change initiatives with strong staffing support

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Baystate Health, Patient Care Technicians (PCT) play a hands-on role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care alongside our nursing team. Under the supervision of an RN, you'll assist with direct patient care, including hygiene, mobility, and vital sign monitoring.

PCT’s perform a range of clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, and Point of Care testing. This role also includes assisting with procedures, patient transport, equipment management, and supporting emergency response protocols.

Strong communication, teamwork, and a commitment to patient safety are essential.

QUALIFICATIONS:

This position is part of a career ladder and hiring level determined by Recruitment.

Level I:

-PCT training or CNA training, preferred

-BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association, required

Level II:

- High School diploma or GED

-at least one year of patient care experience (this experience can vary in level of long-term care, specialty, acute care, etc.)

- BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association, required

Level III:

-High School diploma or GED

-Three or more years of patient care experience (this experience can vary in level of long-term care, specialty, acute care, etc.) experience OR at least one year as a level II PCT at Baystate Health

- BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association, required

Level IV:

- High School Diploma or GED

- 4 or more years of Acute or specialty-specific care setting experience OR at least one year as a level III PCT at Baystate Health

- BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association, required

OUR COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY

The base pay range shown above considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors. This base pay range does not include our comprehensive benefits package and any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role.
