About the Role
Our client, a well-established aerospace manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Parts Inspector to join their quality team. This position is responsible for performing detailed inspections of precision aerospace components while ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, customer requirements, and aerospace quality standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional with aerospace manufacturing experience who enjoys working in a precision-driven, highly regulated environment supporting major aerospace programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of precision aerospace components.
- Conduct dimensional and visual inspections using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and digital inspection tools.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T requirements, and customer specifications.
- Complete inspection documentation including process sheets, inspection reports, and quality records.
- Review manufacturing documentation, certifications, and supporting paperwork to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
- Support First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements.
- Prepare and submit ECAV reports and support customer aerospace portal requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to investigate and resolve technical and quality-related issues.
- Assist with customer quality concerns and corrective action activities.
- Maintain accurate inspection records while ensuring compliance with aerospace quality standards.
- Work independently while contributing to a team-focused manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent hands-on experience considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of quality inspection experience within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting aerospace OEM customers such as GE Aerospace, Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, or similar organizations.
- Strong knowledge of aerospace inspection processes, quality documentation, and customer requirements.
- Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAP, and ECAV reporting.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency using precision measurement tools and inspection equipment.
- Experience utilizing quality management systems and digital gaging systems.
- Knowledge of aerospace quality standards and compliance requirements, including ITAR and DFARS.
- Familiarity with aerospace supplier portals and customer documentation requirements.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a fast-paced aerospace precision manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of aerospace quality processes including ESA, VSE, SPS, and Flight Safety requirements.
- Experience supporting critical aerospace components and flight safety programs.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
