Job Information

Well-established CPA firm in Independence, Ohio is seeking a new or experienced staff (ideally 0-3+ years experience). As a Staff Accountant, you will work alongside experienced professionals to provide tax, accounting, and assurance services to a diverse client base. You will assist with the preparation of tax returns, financial statement engagements, and other client projects while developing your technical accounting and tax knowledge. This role offers exposure to a variety of industries and engagement types, providing an excellent opportunity for professional growth. Successful candidates will be detail-oriented, eager to learn, and able to manage multiple assignments in a collaborative team environment.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (CPA eligibility preferred).
0 - 3+ years of public accounting experience, including exposure to tax and/or assurance engagements.
Basic understanding of federal/state tax regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Experience with accounting, tax, and audit software is preferred, but not required.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Eagerness to learn, develop technical skills, and grow within the profession.
Positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional client service.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and nonprofit organizations.
Participate in audit, review, and compilation engagements, including performing testing procedures and preparing workpapers.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
Conduct basic tax and accounting research and communicate findings to supervisors and managers.
Maintain organized and accurate workpapers and documentation in accordance with firm standards.
Provide exceptional client service while developing professional relationships with clients and colleagues.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
