Full Job Description

McStain Neighborhoods is a privately owned, award-winning homebuilder and developer. McStain Neighborhoods puts our employees first and believes that team work is the success to our sustainable neighborhoods and homes that enrich the lives of our customers. We are driven by our commitment to make a difference in the world. We are seeking an aligned Purchasing Agent to assist our Purchasing Director to effectively complete purchasing related activities to achieve its business vision. This is an exciting and challenging position that will be directly involved in the creation and construction of new neighborhoods from raw land to finished neighborhoods.

Job Duties and Reporting Responsibilities:

Coordinate bid/contract process including entering contract pricing into purchasing system
Research areas of potential cost reductions
Facilitate vendor onboarding paperwork by tracking and organizing contract and other documents including insurance certificates to ensure full compliance
Send and track contracts through DocuSign
Generate and verify base house purchase orders and contract pricing at lot start
Update purchase orders to reflect change orders through PO management software
Support the vendor payment inquiry process by reviewing and validating contract status and amounts.
Assist in generating reports and cost projections
Assist in preparing monthly construction payment requests
Compile, manage and maintain all necessary documentation relating to company’s project completion protocols
Track and verify payment of rebate programs and model home incentives

Experience and Core Competencies:

Required –

Strong computer skills, especially proficient in Microsoft Excel
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in an efficient and accurate manner
Strong conversational skills to achieve conflict resolution, both written and verbal
High school or GED education

Preferred -

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, finance or related field preferred
Experience in residential construction or purchasing/estimating
Familiarity with construction drawings and quantity takeoffs
Construction ERP familiarity
