Job Description:

The Communications, Events and Special Projects Manager leads and coordinates communications, marketing, outreach, digital engagement, and events for the Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) division. This position develops and implements integrated communication strategies to enhance visibility, support recruitment and enrollment, and strengthen engagement with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and external partners. It oversees communications across web, social media, print, and digital platforms, coordinates and executes a wide range of GPS events, and creates marketing and outreach materials in collaboration with the Office of Communications and Marketing (OCM). This position serves as a key liaison between campus stakeholders to ensure consistent branding, aligned messaging, and effective delivery of communications, outreach, and events.

Key Responsibilities

Communications, Marketing & Outreach

Develop and manage content for the GPS website and social media channels to support recruitment, engagement, and brand visibility. Write, edit, and coordinate communications and publications, including onboarding materials, newsletters, and program resources. Create marketing collateral such as flyers, brochures, presentations, and digital content in collaboration with the Office of Communications and Marketing. Partner with Admissions and campus stakeholders on campaigns and outreach initiatives, and ensure accuracy and consistency across all platforms.

Events Coordination & Management

Plan and execute a wide range of events, including orientations, open houses, recruitment events, and special programs. Manage event logistics, coordinate communications and promotions, and serve as the primary liaison with internal and external partners. Evaluate event success and recommend improvements.

Special Projects

Coordinate special projects as assigned by the Dean, including projects related to programs, the division, and accreditation.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required; communications, marketing, public relations, or related field preferred.
Experience in communications, marketing, outreach, or higher education administration preferred.
Strong writing, editing, and content development skills.
Experience creating marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, handouts, and digital content.
Experience managing websites and social media platforms.
Event planning and coordination experience preferred
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and design software for creation of marketing and outreach materials (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent platforms).
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
