IAG Performance of Hanover, PA is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Robotic MIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating robotic welding equipment, performing quality inspections, and ensuring parts meet engineering specifications. This position requires mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate robotic MIG welding cells to produce high-quality welded components.
- Load and unload parts into robotic welding fixtures.
- Perform visual inspections and basic dimensional checks on welded assemblies.
- Make minor program adjustments and troubleshoot robotic welding equipment as needed.
- Replace welding wire, tips, nozzles, and other consumables.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on robotic welding cells.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and welding symbols.
- Maintain production records and quality documentation.
- Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean work area.
- Collaborate with supervisors, quality personnel, and maintenance to resolve production issues.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Required: Previous MIG welding experience.
- Previous experience operating robotic MIG welding equipment preferred.
- Experience with Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa, or OTC robotic systems is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret welding symbols.
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, tape measures, and weld gauges.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with robotic welding systems.
- Knowledge of welding parameters and fixture setup.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus.
