Full Job Description

Job Title: Lead Business Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Business Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of Business Analysis experience and a strong track record of partnering with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver high-quality solutions. This role requires expertise in requirements gathering, SDLC, Agile methodologies, and business process improvement, along with excellent communication and leadership skills.

Location: Virginia Square, VA or Fairfax, VA (Onsite)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Authorization: U.S. Citizenship Required

Key Responsibilities

Lead business analysis activities throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
Develop and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), user stories, use cases, workflows, and process maps.
Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, interviews, and knowledge transfer sessions.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Developers, QA, Deployment, and Operations, to ensure successful project delivery.
Identify business challenges and recommend effective, scalable solutions.
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by validating requirements and ensuring business needs are met.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Mentor junior Business Analysts and provide guidance on best practices.
Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of Business Analyst experience.
Strong knowledge of Business Analysis methodologies and best practices.
Experience with requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation.
Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Experience working with cross-functional business and technical teams.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading or mentoring Business Analysts.
Experience with enterprise-wide business process improvement initiatives.
Hands-on experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar Agile project management tools.
Experience using Microsoft Visio or other process mapping tools.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
