Full Job Description

Biddergy.com is a leading online auction services provider serving virtually all industries worldwide. We are seeking an Outside Sales Representative in the Chicago area that is responsible for developing new business and building strong relationships with individuals, businesses, contractors, dealers, financial institutions, and other organizations that may benefit from auction and asset disposition services. This position involves prospecting for new clients, identifying opportunities, conducting on-site consultations, presenting auction solutions, and managing customer relationships from initial contact through completion of the auction process.

The ideal candidate is a motivated, outgoing professional who enjoys meeting people, generating leads, closing sales, and working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prospect for new auction and asset disposition business through cold calling, networking, referrals, email, social media, and in-person visits.
Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
Identify potential auction opportunities involving equipment, vehicles, real estate, business assets, estates, and other property.
Meet with prospective clients at their businesses, job sites, or other locations to assess their needs.
Explain auction services, marketing strategies, timelines, fees, and the overall auction process.
Prepare and present proposals designed to meet each client's specific needs.
Build long-term relationships with clients and referral partners.
Follow up consistently with prospects and existing customers to generate repeat and referral business.
Coordinate with auction operations, marketing, and administrative teams to ensure a smooth transition from sale acquisition to auction completion.
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, leads, prospects, proposals, and customer interactions.
Attend networking events, trade shows, industry events, and community activities to promote company services.
Monitor local markets and identify businesses, industries, and situations that may generate future auction opportunities.
Represent the company professionally and promote its reputation, services, and values.
Meet or exceed established sales and business-development goals.

Qualifications

Proven experience in outside sales, business development, account management, or a related field.
Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
Ability to establish rapport and develop relationships with a wide range of customers.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
Comfortable making cold calls and conducting face-to-face sales visits.
Ability to travel throughout an assigned territory.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with CRM systems.
Auction, heavy equipment, automotive, construction, agricultural, real estate, or asset-disposition experience is a plus but not required.

Work Environment

This is an active outside sales position requiring regular travel throughout the assigned territory. The representative will spend significant time meeting prospective clients, visiting potential auction sites, networking, and developing new business. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required for auctions, client meetings, networking events, or other company activities.
