Full Job Description

Our Dental practice is looking for an experienced individual to add value to our office. Our Insurance Coordinator serves as an intermediary between the patient and the insurance company. Duties include but not limited to: insurance coordination, billing and receiving, preauthorization, aging, coordinating with patients as well as insurance companies. This teammate works closely with Billing Coordinator and team, providers as well as patients to communicate any coverage or claim related issues. They maintain a professional positive relationship with insurance carriers to ensure claims are processed efficiently, effectively and timely.

Eligibility & Billing

Obtain current benefits, treatment history, etc. for an upcoming appointment
Create new insurance group templates as well as individual benefits into the software
Find out what procedure codes are changing and update procedure list
Procure coverage and limitations for each patient and enter them into Dentrix.
Work with Billing Coordinator to submit claims to primary and secondary insurance companies as well as third-party payers for timely reimbursement.
Prepare and obtain narratives for insurance submissions as needed
Consult with insurance companies for pre-authorizations
Acts as office dental coding expert by staying up to date on CDT changes, as well as assisting the team with coding questions as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Verifying patient’s insurance benefits
Maintaining current and accurate insurance carrier fee schedules and plan breakdowns in the Practice Management system.
Managing relationships and/or collaborating with outsourcing agencies for claims processing/aging related tasks
Processing claims daily
Send additional information when requested such as xrays, charting, narratives or other info requested for claims processing
Monitoring weekly, monthly and quarterly claim status and aging reports to resolve issues and claims.
Maintaining practitioner credentialing.
Having front and back of the office experience (assisting and front desk) is a major plus and incentive to hire!
