Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Restore Manager reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for overseeing retail operations and Restore Contributions, including all aspects of marketing, donations, sales, waste management and personnel management.

Planning & Reporting

Prepare annual budgets and monthly marketing plans for the ReStore based on sales trends and forecasts to maximize revenue and control expenses
Submit coded invoices, statements, and receipts to Business Manager
Deliver productivity metrics on a monthly and quarterly basis as needed by the Executive Director. Metrics to include, but not limited to: price per sq ft of retail space; sales per sq ft; profit margin; payroll to revenue; profit margin on purchased products; % of sales per category; and staff turnover
Provide monthly inventory reports on purchased products including current stock levels, plans for restocking and updates on vendors
Create “sales” and other events, social media posts, and website updates to increase sales
Complete annual ReStore Report for HFHI
Coordinate policy and procedural changes with the Executive Director based on operational requirements

Daily Operations:

Ensure that all scheduled staff are present and report any absences to Executive Director
Address any software issues including Point of Sale, vendor management and employee scheduling softwares
Provide cash for two registers and complete cashier sign-on procedure of accepting cash drawers
Report any conflicts or adverse behavior to the Executive Director immediately, and in the absence, the Business Manager.
Review ReStore Truck route with Truck Driver and Scheduler
Supervise staff throughout the day with clear instructions on productivity and safety
Constantly evaluate the work areas, including the outdoor loading and unloading spaces for safety and efficiency
Ensure that all work areas are OSHA compliant
Address customer queries and complaints in a respectful and diplomatic manner
Supervise daily cash register closures including drawer counts and reports and vouch for results. Report any reconciliation differences. Report any patterns of reconciliation differences to the Executive Director
Ensure that all doors are locked and the building is secured prior to departure
Ensure the entire store is clean and presentable prior to opening the store

Staff Management:

Prepare an annual plan for staffing based on seasonal needs and patterns
Create weekly staff schedules and post the schedules every week in the Break Room
Lead recruitment exercises to fill vacancies including setting up interview panels, formatting interview questions and determining selection criteria
Liaise with Executive Director and Business Manager to extend offer letters
Provide clear and direct coaching to ReStore staff on customer relations, safety, pricing, product placement, etc
Oversee pricing and placement of donated items and inventory
Train and mentor staff to reach sales goals and provide appropriate and appreciative customer service
Systematically review job description and workplans for special projects with ReStore staff.
Cross train staff for increased productivity within the ReStore
Provide clear verbal and written performance feedback to ReStore staff using the HFHFV templates. Advise Executive Director of disciplinary issues immediately. Provide clear recommendations for termination based on concrete causes
Track staff absences through the use of the “Request for Absence” form. Share all absence requests with the Executive Director. Write all absences on the whiteboard in the Break Room
· Provide evaluations for each ReStore staff member semi-annually

Donation Management

Implement streamlined operational practices to receive donations and enhance donor satisfaction
Evaluate facility, location and service area to identify increased donation opportunities
Call furniture and building supply retailers on a regular basis (10 per month) to request donations to the ReStore. Submit a list of retailers contacted with contact information to the Executive Director on a monthly basis. Track calls made to donations received ratio
Inform Executive Director and Business Manager of all donations received for entry into HFHFV’s donor management software
Liaise with Executive Director and Community Engagement Manager on campaigns to increase donations
Consistently monitor ReStore Truck and Team to ensure that the donor experience is of high quality

Safety (staff and equipment):

Train and monitor staff to ensure compliance with state and federal laws
Create, maintain and post a current list of safety rules and practices as required by OSHA and Habitat for Humanity International and HFHFV
Monitor premises constantly for safety hazards. Immediately address any safety hazards and inform Executive Director of any funds required to rectify safety hazards
Manage and maintain required employee certifications, e.g. CPR, Forklift, etc.
Create and implement a maintenance schedule for all vehicles and equipment

Requirements

Leadership and customer management skills
Experience with point of sale and other retail softwares
Sales abilities
Strong organizational skills and ability to articulate plans
Awareness of state and federal requirements regarding safety, staffing and retail operations
Knowledge of premises and equipment maintenance
Capacity to teach and mentor employees and volunteers
Effective communication and conflict management skills
Safety and first aid training
Valid drivers license with clean driving record
Pass a criminal background check
CPR certification
Forklift operation certification
Strenuous activity requiring the ability to sit, walk, carry, push, pull, lift over 100 lbs, climb, bend, etc. as required with retail sales, donations and waste management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
