What do we do?

Our goal at American Pain Consortium is to support our clinics that help patients seeking relief from pain, numbness, and tingling sensations that are often related to neuropathic pain or neuropathy, among many other forms of chronic pain. Even patients who have tried other pain treatments without success often benefit significantly from safe, effective treatment at American Pain Consortium. Our clinical multidisciplinary approach to care delivers the correct intervention to every patient, every time through various pain management procedures including injections, open surgical cases with general anesthesia, physical therapy, and psychological services. Our Providers focus on helping individuals improve functionality to restore a more meaningful lifestyle.

Job Summary

The Data Entry Specialist is responsible for accurately entering and verifying laboratory data into the practice management system and ensuring all lab-related charges and documentation are complete and ready for billing submission. This role ensures that lab work is properly finalized, coded, and submitted to insurance payers in compliance with regulations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (What You’ll Do)

Generate a daily finalization report of labs performed the prior day, organized by location.
Enter out-of-office lab charges into the practice management system.
Verify the type of test performed and submit appropriate billing information to insurance payers.
Validate that all lab forms are complete and accurate prior to billing for work comp or insurance purposes.
Maintain effective working relationships with team members working on either side of the charge entry and lab billing process.
Communicate issues in lab data entry or billing caused upstream.
Collaborate with relevant parties to identify and recommend solutions for root cause issues.
Enter and verify the accuracy of patient demographics and insurance information to prevent delays in claim payment.

Minimum Qualifications (What We Are Looking For)

Education and/or Experience Requirements

High school diploma required; additional education in medical office administration or related field preferred.
2 years of data entry or billing experience preferred.
Working knowledge of compliance, payer, charge, and claim format requirements preferred.
