As the first point of contact for guests at Samaritan Inn, our Front Desk Clerks play an essential role in creating a warm, welcoming, and Christ-centered hospitality experience. They greet every guest with professionalism, compassion, and genuine care, ensuring each interaction reflects the mission and values of Samaritan's Purse. From the moment guests arrive until their departure, Front Desk Clerks are committed to providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service. By fostering a welcoming environment and delivering exceptional customer service, they help ensure every guest feels valued, supported, and cared for throughout their stay.

In the role of Front Desk Clerk, you will have the opportunity to:

Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
Welcome and serve Samaritan Inn guests with a warm, professional, and Christ-centered spirit, completing check-in/check-out, registration, key distribution, amenity information, and timely resolution of questions or concerns to ensure a positive guest experience.
Coordinate reservations and daily operations by processing reservation requests, maintaining required reports, communicating with requesting departments and housekeeping, and ensuring accurate shift-to-shift communication, calendars, and staff logs.
Maintain a welcoming and orderly environment by monitoring the front desk, lobby, dining/breakfast areas, patio, and other common spaces, while assisting with light housekeeping, breakfast service, and timely reporting of room or maintenance concerns.
Protect the safety and well-being of guests and staff by maintaining knowledge of emergency and safety procedures, responding appropriately to unsafe situations, and promptly notifying Security and the Samaritan Inn Manager when needed.
Support the mission and ministry of Samaritan's Purse by staying informed of Ministry and departmental updates, seeking opportunities to serve the Samaritan Inn team, participating in daily devotions, and praying for the Ministry, donors, volunteers, and guests.

What are the qualifications?

Serve with Excellence

As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:

Associate's degree and a minimum of two (2) years of front desk customer service strongly preferred; or equivalent combination of experience and education
Dependable, with Keen Attention to Detail
Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision
Ability to Manage Down Time Well
Excellent customer service skills in attentiveness, listening, and appropriate questioning to determine the level of service needed
Ability to effectively present key information in one-on-one and small group situations
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to learn the reservation software system
General knowledge of various office equipment, including phone system and printer/copier
Ability to process and handle confidential information while maintaining discretion
Ability to multitask and shift priorities in challenging situations while maintaining composure
Ability to maintain keen situational awareness and meet the needs of guests and/or provide resources before being asked
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure and/or in emergency situations
