About This Job

As a Patient Services Coordinator, you are the welcoming voice and organizational heart of our clinic. You play a vital role in creating a positive and efficient experience for every patient. This position ensures seamless operations, from initial contact to appointment completion, directly impacting patient satisfaction and clinic success. You connect patients with the care they need, manage critical information, and uphold the highest standards of service.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Manages patient appointments, scheduling, and rescheduling to optimize clinic flow and patient access.
Provides exceptional customer service, addressing patient inquiries and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
Accurately updates and maintains patient information within the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
Performs thorough Insurance Verification, confirming coverage and explaining benefits to patients.
Utilizes Medical Terminology to communicate effectively with patients and clinical staff.
Demonstrates strong Communication Skills through clear verbal and written interactions.
Executes precise Data Entry for patient demographics, appointments, and billing information.
Ensures strict HIPAA Compliance in all patient interactions and data handling, safeguarding patient privacy.
Leverages Microsoft Office suite for various administrative tasks, including documentation and correspondence.
Applies excellent Organizational Skills to manage multiple tasks, maintain orderly records, and prioritize effectively.

Required Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

One year of experience in a healthcare administrative or customer service role.

Knowledge/Skills

Patient Scheduling principles and practices.
Exceptional Customer Service orientation.
Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
Understanding of Insurance Verification processes.
Familiarity with Medical Terminology.
Strong Communication Skills, both verbal and written.
Accurate Data Entry abilities.
Knowledge of HIPAA Compliance regulations.
Competency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Demonstrated Organizational Skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree in a healthcare-related field.
Certification in medical administrative assisting or a related area.
Experience with specific EHR platforms used in our clinic.

Physical Requirements/Work Conditions

Performs tasks in a typical office environment.
Sits for extended periods while operating a computer and phone.
Stands, walks, and occasionally lifts up to 15 pounds.
Requires manual dexterity for computer use and handling documents.
Communicates effectively in person and over the phone.
