Role Summary
Participates at an advanced, master-level in the construction, installation, repair, maintenance, and inspection of all elements of residential carpentry. This role serves as a gateway to the Site Lead position; as such, the Senior Carpenter is expected to master all journey-level tasks while beginning to develop "belt-off" competencies. This position participates in daily production but may lean into an "Acting Site Lead" capacity on specific projects or tasks, occasionally overseeing quality control and subcontractor coordination as needed. This position reports to the Site Lead and Build Manager.
Principal Duties:
Participates in, and may oversee, all rough framing cut, fasten and assembly activities and the myriad materials and fasteners involved in the completion of this work.
Participates in, and may lead, all sheathing and exterior assembly finish work including trim, siding, window and door installation and the myriad materials and fasteners involved in the completion of this work.
Participates in, and may lead, all relevant carpentry work associated with roughing–in interior living, shop and garage spaces. Includes partition walls, doors, trim, gypsum board installation, decorative moldings, and all detailing related to Kitchen installation and finishing.
Participates in, and may lead, all relevant custom cabinetry construction that the company performs through its custom cabinetry offerings.
Participates in, and may direct, all relevant and applicable insulation measures including cellulose, rigid foam, fiberglass, and spray foam insulations.
Maintains oversight of site maintenance and safety protocols, including daily tool set-up, storage, and the enforcement of mobilization plans.
Mentors journey-level carpenters and apprentices, providing direction on means and methods to ensure LCB quality standards are met.
Acting Site Lead:
When needed, may participate in project planning, material take-offs, and the coordination of site logistics and staging. In this capacity, serves as the point of contact for subcontractors and clients, ensuring production goals are met and consistent updates are delivered to the project team.
Qualifications:
7+ years of carpentry experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education deemed appropriate by the hiring manager. Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Must be able to safely work with sharp tools and power equipment.
Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.
Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and good hand-eye coordination.
Compensation:
Position is an hourly full-time position with a pay rate of $33.00 - $40.00 per hour. Actual compensation varies based on qualifications, leadership skills, and the experience of the candidate.

Reimbursement for non-commuting mileage that is accrued through either traveling between job sites during a workday or for materials or errands that you perform in service to Lewis Creek or our clients. The reimbursement rate is set by the IRS. Mileage reimbursement is not offered for commuting from home to office/jobsite or from office/jobsite to home.
Six paid holidays: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
After 3 months of working with Lewis Creek we offer two weeks (ten days) paid vacation per year, this amount increases incrementally with years of service. At the same time you are eligible for 5 paid sick/personal days per year.
A simple IRA plan where we match dollar for dollar up to 3% of your annual gross income that you defer from your salary into your Simple IRA retirement account. Eligibility for participation is 90 days from your start date or $5000 gross salary earned.
Group short-term and long-term disability insurance and life insurance paid for by Lewis Creek. Enhanced coverage is available at your own additional cost, at better than market rates.
Health Benefits, with two plans to choose from, each with a significant employer paid contribution. There is an additional $1000 HRA account made available to all employees, regardless of enrollment in an LCB plan. Eligible FSA account.
