Location: Willmar, MN — In person
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 1-hour lunch break

We are looking for an Account Manager who is organized, service-minded, detail-oriented, and ready to become an important part of our customer experience.

This role is not a typical customer service position. You will be part of the team that helps turn steel opportunities into delivered orders. You will work with Outside Sales, customers, processors, and internal teams to make sure orders are understood, entered correctly, followed up on, and completed with excellence.

What You’ll Do

As an Account Manager, you will help manage the flow of information between our customers, sales team, processors, and internal systems. You will play a key role in making sure customers are served well from the first quote through final delivery and invoice.

Your work will include:

Supporting Outside Sales by helping manage customer orders, quotes, and follow-up.
Communicating with customers about order status, delivery updates, processing needs, and documentation.
Entering sales orders, processing orders, material requisitions, and other order-related information accurately.
Helping turn a customer request into a completed delivery.
Coordinating with internal team members and processing partners to help prioritize customer needs.
Tracking open quotes, active orders, customer requests, and order issues.
Investigating and helping resolve customer complaints, rejects, or service problems.
Keeping documents organized by scanning, attaching, and maintaining order records in internal systems.
Learning steel, steel markets, customer requirements, and processing capabilities over time.
Building strong working relationships with customers, processors, Outside Sales, and teammates.

ResponsibilitiesCustomer and Sales Support

Respond to customer, sales, and internal requests in a timely and professional manner.
Follow up on existing orders, open quotes, and outstanding customer needs.
Work closely with Outside Sales to make sure customer needs, steel specifications, and delivery expectations are understood.
Provide accurate updates to customers and Outside Sales.
Help strengthen relationships with key customer and processor contacts.

Order Management and Accuracy

Accurately enter sales orders, processing orders, material requisitions, and related reports.
Review order details for accuracy and completeness.
Maintain organized records and documentation using internal tools and websites.
Support the process of turning customer orders into successful deliveries.

Team Collaboration

Communicate with the Processing Lead and team members to help prioritize orders as needed.
Work with internal departments to support customer service, order flow, and issue resolution.
Complete assigned tasks while contributing to the success of the team.
Stay flexible and willing to assist with additional duties as needed.

Problem Solving

Investigate customer complaints, rejects, and order issues.
Help resolve problems quickly, professionally, and accurately.
Communicate both successes and failures with honesty and clarity.
Look for ways to improve processes, communication, and customer experience.

Qualifications

High school diploma, general education degree, or equivalent required.
1 year of customer service experience preferred.
1 year of data entry experience preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Microsoft Access experience is a plus.
Steel industry experience is helpful but not required.
