Full Job Description

Summary

When we win an order, somebody has to turn it into a complete, correct, ready-to-run plan of attack. That's this job. You sit between Estimating and Programming and you build the work order — routing, setup sheets, tool lists, all of it — so that when a job reaches the floor, everything the shop needs is already there and visible.

We run ProShop ERP, so all of this lives online. Your work product is a clean work order that nobody has to chase.

What you'll do

Take confirmed orders handed off from Estimating and own them from there.
Work closely with the Programmer to build out routing and process steps.
Assemble and file all job detail into ProShop — routing steps, setup sheets, tool lists, tool libraries, and supporting documentation.
Make the plan visible so the shop can see clearly that a job has been planned.
Coordinate outside processing steps into the routing.
Keep planning ahead of the schedule so jobs don't wait on you.

This is not a production management role. You plan jobs. You don't run the floor, you don't direct operators, and you don't supervise. The separation is intentional and it's part of how we keep the shop calm and predictable. If what you actually want is to be a floor supervisor, this isn't the right seat and we'd both rather know now

Where this role goes

Right now this is a planning seat. As we roll out AI-assisted scheduling — and as you grow with it — this role grows into planning and scheduling together. You'd own more of the sequencing decisions over time. We're deliberately hiring somebody with the ceiling to take that on, not just somebody to fill today's box.

What you need

Solid understanding of a manufacturing environment and how a job flows from machine to machine.
Floor experience — enough that you know the difference between a turning center and a milling center cold and would never route lathe work to a mill.
Blueprint reading; working familiarity with GD&T.
Comfort living in an ERP and keeping records complete and accurate.
Organized, detail-driven, and able to communicate clearly with both the office and the shop.
U.S. Person status as defined under ITAR (required).

We're rebuilding this company on purpose, and we're standardizing how work gets planned so it doesn't depend on the most experienced person in the building. You'd be central to that — including the rollout of our AI scheduling tools. You'd report directly to ownership. We're not selling stability; we're selling the build.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
