Residential Program Director

Company: Vinfen
Location: North Andover, MA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Salary: $60,372.50 per year

Position Summary

Vinfen is seeking a Residential Program Director to lead and manage residential human services operations in North Andover, MA. The Residential Program Director provides staff leadership, program oversight, service planning, quality assurance, compliance, and operational management for individuals receiving residential and community-based services.

The ideal candidate has experience in human services, residential programs, staff supervision, case management, behavioral health, developmental disabilities, brain injury services, or related fields and is committed to promoting independence, dignity, safety, and community integration for the people we serve.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise residential program staff, including hiring, training, coaching, performance management, scheduling, and professional development.
Provide leadership and direction regarding individual service plans, treatment/support plans, assessments, interventions, and rehabilitative strategies.
Oversee the intake and assessment process for prospective individuals served.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of clinical documentation, service plans, progress notes, records, and required reports.
Ensure compliance with state regulations, licensing requirements, accreditation standards, funding-source requirements, and Vinfen policies and procedures.
Monitor program quality, outcomes, goals, and objectives and implement quality improvement initiatives.
Manage crisis situations, critical incidents, medication occurrences, physical restraints, and other adverse events, ensuring appropriate documentation, reporting, and corrective action.
Support individuals with access to housing, subsidies, community resources, benefits, and other support services.
Promote person-centered planning, self-advocacy, independence, community integration, and family engagement.
Provide outreach and support to strengthen relationships between individuals served, families, friends, providers, and community partners.
Resolve concerns and problems involving staff, individuals served, families, and external providers.
Develop and manage adherence to program budgets, monitor service delivery data, and oversee collection of program fees.
Represent Vinfen with community organizations, regulatory agencies, funding sources, professional organizations, and other service providers.
Maintain program facilities and ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are met.
Provide on-call backup and on-site support/intervention as needed.
Ensure proper medication storage, administration, documentation, and disposal in accordance with Massachusetts MAP requirements and Vinfen policy.
Maintain current knowledge of human services trends, best practices, crisis intervention, advocacy, and rehabilitation techniques.
Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsRequired

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible experience in human services.
At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
Experience leading, supervising, or managing human services staff.
Strong knowledge of residential services, person-centered planning, documentation, service coordination, and regulatory compliance.
Ability to make independent decisions, manage competing priorities, solve problems, and lead a team.
Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work professionally and confidentially with individuals, families, staff, providers, and community partners.
Knowledge of computer applications and electronic documentation systems.
Valid U.S. driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Ability to drive a Vinfen vehicle or personal vehicle for work-related activities.

Preferred

Experience working with individuals with brain injury.
Experience in developmental disabilities, behavioral health, mental health, community-based services, or residential programs.
Experience with Massachusetts MAP regulations.
CBIS (Certified Brain Injury Specialist) certification or willingness to obtain certification.

Required Training & Certifications

CPR – required within 2 weeks of hire.
First Aid – required within 2 weeks of hire.
Safety Care – required within 90 days of hire.
MAP (Medication Administration Program) – required within 150 days of hire.
NET certification/training.
CBIS certification may be required.
Additional training as assigned.

Driving Requirements

Driving is an essential function of this position. Employees may use a Vinfen vehicle or personal vehicle for work-related purposes. Candidates using a personal vehicle must maintain appropriate auto insurance and a safe driving record.

Candidates must be at least 21 years of age, have held a valid U.S. driver's license for at least 6 months, and successfully complete the required driving background/screening process.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active residential services position. Employees must be able to:

Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb stairs, and maneuver through residential facilities.
Assist individuals with activities of daily living.
Lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or a two-person lift.
Move through narrow spaces and hallways.
Sit, stand, reach, bend, file, and operate standard office equipment.
Use a computer, calculator, copier, printer, and other workplace equipment.
Communicate effectively with individuals served, staff, families, and external representatives.

Meet the visual, hearing, mobility, and communication requirements necessary to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
