Full Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Bookkeeping Assistant to support our Controller and Staff Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with bookkeeping or accounting experience looking for flexible, part-time work.

This is a 1099 independent contractor position with a hybrid schedule. Some responsibilities can be completed remotely, while others require occasional time in the office.

Responsibilities

Gather and organize financial data
Run external activity reports to be analyzed and entered into accounting software
Collect and distribute incoming mail
Print and prepare checks for payment
Contact customers regarding past-due balances and assist with collections/customer payment applications
Assist with filing and maintaining accounting records
Provide administrative and bookkeeping support to the Controller and Staff Accountant
Complete other ad hoc accounting and administrative projects as needed

Qualifications

Previous bookkeeping, accounting, or administrative experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
Comfortable contacting customers regarding outstanding invoices
Reliable transportation for occasional in-office responsibilities

Compensation: $20-$28, based on experience and qualifications
