Full Job Description

Job Purpose

The Mortgage Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks such as, analyzing information and preparing financial reports. The role will be accountable for daily reporting of loan and cash activity and will need to work closely and compatible with management as well as other members of management, operations, and the finance team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
Prepare journal entries
Preparation/review of all mortgage warehouse activities related to the closing/purchasing of mortgage loans held for sale.
Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines

Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications/Requirements

Associate's degree in finance or accounting
1-2 years of experience

Desired Characteristics

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; however, 4 years of relevant professional experience considered equivalent
Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools
Advanced proficiency in Excel
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work well in a team environment
Strong attention to detail

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
