Part-Time Videographer — Personal Brand & Home Design Content
Intracoastal Wallcovering is hiring a part-time videographer to join a three-person content team supporting both our company and founders personal brand. This is a filming-focused position.
You’ll work alongside our creative director, who develops the concepts, scripts, and shot lists, and our video editor, who turns the footage into finished content. Your primary responsibility is to capture excellent footage and deliver organized, production-ready files.
The schedule will vary. Some weeks may include one or more full filming days. Other weeks may require only a short shoot or no filming at all. Shoots will be scheduled in advance whenever possible, and each scheduled shoot will have a four-hour minimum. This is an in-person position for someone who currently lives in Wilmington or the surrounding area.

- Instagram Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts
- Longer-form YouTube and educational content
- Talking-head videos
- Wallpaper installations and jobsite footage
- Behind-the-scenes business content
- Customer transformations and project walkthroughs
- Occasional events, interviews, or podcast-style recordings
Some shoots will be carefully planned. Others will involve following the founder or the team throughout a real workday and recognizing useful moments as they happen.
What You’ll Do
- Work from shot lists and creative direction provided by our creative director
- Film vertical and horizontal content for multiple platforms
- Set up and operate cameras, microphones, lighting, tripods, and related equipment
- Capture clean audio, properly exposed footage, and intentional framing
- Film talking-head videos, jobsite footage, demonstrations, interviews, and behind-the-scenes content
- Identify useful candid moments and capture them without needing constant direction
- Collect multiple angles, close-ups, establishing shots, and supporting B-roll
- Monitor footage during shoots to catch technical problems before the day is over
- Keep batteries charged, cards available, and equipment ready
- Label, organize, back up, and transfer footage promptly after every shoot
- Coordinate with the creative director and editor so they receive everything needed
- Work professionally and respectfully inside customers’ homes and active jobsites
- Protect customer privacy and avoid filming confidential or sensitive information
Editing is not the primary responsibility of this role, but basic editing knowledge is valuable because it helps you capture footage that cuts together properly.
What We’re Looking For
- Demonstrated videography experience and a portfolio showing your work
- Strong understanding of framing, composition, lighting, exposure, and audio
- Experience creating social-first vertical video
- Ability to make talking-head content look polished and professional
- Able to follow a shot list without needing every individual shot explained
- Good instincts for capturing candid moments and behind-the-scenes footage
- Comfortable working in changing environments, including homes and active jobsites
- Reliable, punctual, responsive, and organized
- Able to work closely with a creative director and hand footage off to an editor
- Comfortable receiving direct feedback and adjusting quickly
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Currently located in or near Wilmington, North Carolina
Experience filming personal brands, home-design content, construction, trades, real estate, podcasts, interviews, or educational content is a plus.
Equipment
Please tell us what equipment you currently own and regularly use, including:
- Camera bodies and lenses
- Wireless or shotgun microphones
- Lighting
- Stabilizers or gimbals
- Tripods
- Storage and file-transfer equipment
Owning professional equipment is preferred but not automatically required. Compensation may be higher for someone who provides a complete production-ready camera, lighting, and audio package.
Schedule
This is a part-time role with a flexible production schedule.
- Some weeks may include multiple filming days
- Some shoots may last a full day
- Other shoots may only require a half day
- Some weeks may have little or no scheduled filming
- Occasional evening or weekend availability may be requested
- Shoot dates will be scheduled in advance whenever possible
- Each scheduled shoot has a four-hour minimum
Applicants should have enough schedule flexibility to accommodate filming opportunities, but they will not be expected to remain continuously available without a confirmed shoot.
Compensation
- $25–$35 per hour, depending on experience
- Higher compensation may be available for candidates supplying a complete professional equipment package
- Four-hour minimum for every scheduled shoot
- Mileage reimbursement for approved travel outside the normal Wilmington area
- Paid trial shoot before a longer-term commitment
What Success Looks Like
A successful videographer will:
- Arrive on time with charged, functioning equipment
- Consistently capture sharp, well-exposed footage with clean audio
- Understand the creative director’s vision and execute it accurately
- Capture enough variety that the editor is never missing essential shots
- Recognize valuable unscripted moments without being prompted
- Produce footage suitable for both short-form and long-form content
- Deliver organized and clearly labeled files on time
- Reduce reshoots caused by missing angles or technical mistakes
- Make Joe and the ICW team look natural and confident on camera
- Operate professionally inside customers’ homes and on active jobsites
- Become a dependable member of the content team, even though weekly hours vary
