We are a small, professional accounting firm dedicated to providing exceptional service in tax planning and preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, and business advisory services. We are seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with 5+ years of experience to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work with a variety of clients, including businesses, individuals, and trusts/estates.

Position Details

Job Title: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Experience Required: Minimum 5 years in a public accounting or related field

Client Focus:

Business tax planning and preparation

Individual tax services

Trusts and estate tax preparation

Location: Wilmington, NC In-Office

Employment Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities

Prepare and review tax returns for businesses, individuals, trusts, and estates.

Provide advisory services to clients, including tax planning strategies and compliance guidance.

Oversee and manage client bookkeeping processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Assist clients with payroll processing and related tax filings.

Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.

Stay current with changes in federal, state, and local tax laws to ensure proper compliance and planning.

Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth workflow and excellent service delivery.

Required Qualifications

Active CPA license in good standing.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax and accounting work.

Experience working with:

Creative Solutions Suite (Thomson Reuters products such as UltraTax, Accounting CS, etc.).

QuickBooks (desktop and online versions).

Sage software.

Proficiency in tax preparation for businesses, individuals, and trusts/estates.

Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience with tax planning and advisory services for small businesses.

Familiarity with advanced accounting software tools and integrations.

Strong ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
