Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the complete accounting cycle, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Your expertise will drive efficient bookkeeping practices, support compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and facilitate seamless financial reporting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical accounting skills and contribute to the financial health of our organization through meticulous data entry, account reconciliation, and financial analysis. Experience in multiple states preferred, as well as staffing experience.

Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to accounting standards.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Maintain and update financial software systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or equivalent platforms; ensure data integrity across systems like Workday, Ceridian, UltiPro, ADP, Kronos, PeopleSoft.
Handle confidential information with discretion while managing financial data entry and processing.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing reports and assisting with audit requests.
Ensure compliance with internal requirements and governmental regulations.
Assist with tax preparation activities and maintain accurate records for tax filings.
Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial transactions.

Requirements

Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles with a strong understanding of GAAP and governmental accounting principles.
Proficiency in various accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, UltiPro, ADP, Kronos or similar platforms; familiarity with financial software integration is a plus.
Strong technical accounting skills such as journal entries, account reconciliation, double-entry bookkeeping, and ledger management.
Experience working with spreadsheets using Microsoft Office tools like Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
Knowledge of payroll systems is advantageous.
Excellent numeracy skills coupled with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account analysis.
Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while demonstrating strong organizational skills.
Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and support audit processes confidently.
Prior experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environments is preferred; familiarity with SOX compliance is a plus.
